Letchworth Lions was formed in 1983, and then amalgamated with Baldock Lion, to become known as Letchworth Garden City & Baldock Lion Club.
The aim was to help others that were facing big problems in their lives. We aimed to help them by raising money to provide access to things they really needed. Since then L&B Lions has really grown and helped lots of people! Explore our site and find out what we’ve done, how we help and the difference this has made to others, we have achieved this by our fundraising.
We do Four main fundraising events a year, Pub Easter Egg Raffles, Our annual Lions Family Fun-day, at The Broadway Gardens, Letchworth town centre, & tin shakes out side Salisbury’s Letchworth, Tesco Stotfold, Baldock Services & Pub runs. In addition we collect funds for Marie Curie Nurses outside of Sainsbury’s Letchworth during their Annual Daffodil Appeal.
With monies raised, we have presented over the years, many thousands of pounds to good causes, ie, The Garden House Hospice, Keech Hospice Care for Children, Christmas food parcels to the needy, plus paid for meals on wheels & delivered the meals on Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New years Day. Bingo nights for the the over 60’s, Motorised Wheel Chairs, helped family’s who have lost belongings because of a disaster.
None of this would have been possible without the hard work of our Club members,
and of course the generosity of the people in our community, who never fail to amaze us.
On behalf of all our Club members I would like to say a big thank you.
